Nicholas Perkins, came to America from London, England, transported by Bryant Smith, arriving on October 10, 1641. It is not known just when his family came to America but before August 30, 1650, for on that date he received a patent for 170 acres of land at Bermuda Hundred in Henrico County, Virginia, for the transportation of four person to the colony of Virginia; his wife, Mary Perkins, William Owens and Richard Hughes, the fourth being himself since he had apparently worked out his nine year indenture for passage. The plae of birth of his children is likewise unkown, but is thought to be Virginia. His wife, Mary Burton, born about 1615 in England, was a daughter of John and Lydia Frye Burton, who alos came to Virginia.
Nicholas died about 1654 in Charles City County, Virginia, Mary married a second time, in July, 1656, to Dr. Richard Parker. With three of her children, Lydia, Elizabeth and Nicholas II, the Parkers moved back to Henrico, where she died about 1659/60
